A bad credit history can be
fixed

Your credit history is something that
you should be careful of, since it will follow you around for a long
time, and can have a major effect on whether or not you're able to get
loans or credit cards in the future. Maintaining a good credit history
is easier than it might sound as long as you're careful with the sorts
of debts that you accrue, and you make sure that you don't miss
monthly payments.
If you have a bad credit history,
however, don't worry. There are a lot of different things that you can
do to improve your history - as long as you are willing to do the
work. The number one way that you improve your history is by making
sure that you pay off your debts over time. It may take a while before
you see any major improvements, however, you will be able to as long
as you keep working at it.
Your credit history will be damaged
more by some things than by others. One major thing that will affect
it is if you are unable to pay off your debts. The more debt you have
and the less you are able to pay it off, the worse your credit history
will be. After all, people who are going to lend you money will be
less likely to do so if you have a history of bad debt.
The first thing that you need to do
if you're going to fix your credit history, however, is to get a copy
of it. Without this copy, you won't know how bad it is, and you won't
know whether or not you need to take action to fix it. You can obtain
a copy of your credit history just by requesting it - you will always
have access to it.
Next, you should avoid several
things: late payments, bankruptcy, too many credit cards, or credit
cards with high interest rates that you can't pay. Then, you may want
to write to your creditors, asking to reduce your available credit -
since this is considered in your credit history whether you're using
it or not. Finally, you should work on paying off all of your existing
debts - once they're paid off, your history should have recovered by
quite a bit.
